Personal and professional advancement is a common desire among politicians and never surprises us. But if Councilmember Rebecca Noecker (DFL-Ward 2) were to be elected to the Ramsey County Board, it would be a serious loss for the City of St Paul. Her wealth of experience is what keeps the City Council together, and without her, we will face even more chaos on that body. The infighting between specific members, the lawsuits already settled and more underway, is quite embarrassing, and the catfighting is unacceptable.
A name being battered about for Noecker’s replacement includes Peter Bulter, and that would be an utter disaster.
This is a serious consideration voters in District 5 need to weigh.
