Legislative followers should be asking themselves why the House of Representative are having Wednesday legislative sessions. In our previous article pondering the idea of the House passing a budget bill prior to the March 11th Special election in House District 40B, Roseville has been given credence from within the ranks of the DFL House. A member has said, it is totally possible the House could capitalize on the window between the release of the Revenue Forecast on March 6th and the swearing in of the victor, assuming it is David Gottfried (DFL) later.
This means the forecast will allow for the setting of targets or limits for funding and unless there is a Tax Bill or other legislation that creates revenue, like the Sports Betting, the House position will be established.
Looks like our institutional knowledge once again has value.
