National & Minnesota Report

The Towle refiling against Mike Lindell (R-MN) continues and will be heard expeditiously.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In a Prima Facie Ruling Mike Lindell Solely Faces Additional Bribery and Fraud Allegations

 SAINT PAUL, Minnesota – August 26, 2026

Shawn Towle, publisher of Minnesota’s first digital political magazine and a witness to the original complaint against MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell, received notice acceptance of his refiling of the allegations and those being ruled as warranting a Probable Cause hearing. The hearing will take place by phone on September 4, 2026 at 10:00 am.

To listen to the proceedings (a) Dial telephone number 1 651-395-7448, and, when prompted, (b) Enter the Conference Code 826 031 471#.

The complaint centers on alleged violations of Minnesota Statute 211B.13 — Bribery, Treating, and Solicitation.

The Allegations:

The complaint alleges that Lindell sought to advance his candidacy by providing something of value to voters. Although the exact monetary value remains unclear, Towle argues that the statute is clear: anything of monetary value given to voters is illegal.

The filing directly addresses Lindell’s defense in the prior Probable Cause proceedings, which Towle characterizes as the “Marty Rule” — the argument that providing anything under $5.00 is permissible.

That threshold, the complaint notes, is not in dispute when applied to an exchange between a lobbyist (petitioner) and a legislator, but it is not applicable to an exchange between a candidate and a voter.

The full complaint is attached, with exhibits and supporting links in the accompanying Word document.

As a member of the media himself, Towle said he respects deadlines and process, but priority will be given to broadcast and radio opportunities — especially those outlets that have not yet had the wherewithal to have him as a contributor.

Those who know Towle know clearly: he has no respect for many who regularly provide political commentary, largely because it is an ignorant crowd.
