It will be a working weekend leading up to the final day for this portion of the biennial legislative session ending on Monday, May 22nd. In a press conference yesterday, House Speaker Melissa Hortman (DFL-34B, Brooklyn Park) reminded those assembled, that this is only the first year of the biennium and legislation, like Sportsbook is still alive and can be acted on next session. The date for next year’s start is February 12, 2024.

There are now 20 Conference Committees underway, and we are awaiting the resulting Conference Committee Reports, which will be brought to the respective floors throughout the weekend. The list of current Conference Committees and membership are found at https://www.leg.mn.gov/leg/cc/ If you look at the specific bills which have passed both bodies, you can also see the other bills included inside the omnibus bills.
