There is a great deal of talk about the nursing shortage, but also the failed responses being made by the healthcare institutions is an issue as well. At the Mayo Clinic, nurses are leaving in droves and the clinics response isn’t being met with much appreciation by the nursing staff.
The 2% raise proposal is being seen as a slap in the face and many are option tot become traveling nurses, because the pay is as much as three times greater. This is not to say, this is a desired option for all, especially those with families, but incoming nurses and those who are empty-nesters might find life in new places, being paid at a fair greater scale a worthy option.
