On the grass, behind the location of the MNA rally, is located a manhole cover for the street sewer. After competition of the rally, as we watched the nurse disburse to the three entrances to engage the participants at the Carlson School of Management’s 1st Tuesday Speaker Series where the topic was, Healthcare Leaders on the Future of the Industry and we circumnavigated the build and discovered the manhole cover open and a strong odor of gasoline emanating from the sewer system. Then firetruck started coming around and the area was vacated.
Nearly one month ago, there was an explosion in the same sewer system and although no one was injured it unsettled the campus. This time, no explosion occurred but the problem still remains and its cause remains unexplained.
