National & Minnesota Report
Well, we haven’t chosen to touch this one yet, but now is a good time. Congresswoman Angie Craig (D-MNo2) v Lt Governor Peggy Flanagan (DFL-MN) is heavyweight v. flyweight. One starts with major accomplishments in Congress, and the other a yawn-distinguished political career. Now, to be fair, Lt Governors don’t really do much, other than ribbon-cutting ceremonies, visitations at funerals, and wait for the person ahead of them to die. But even with a single term of office in the State House, Flanagan has done virtually nothing of note in the entirety of her political career. Not just Fly Weight, Light Weight.
The endorsement by first-lady Gwen Walz is a tacit, not-so-subtle slam from Governor Tim Walz (DFL-MN) because the two walk lockstep together. Flanagan’s claims of the “The buck stops with Tim” comment are an epitome are an example of waiting to take credit for all of the good and none of the bad.
As a state that needs to keep paying attention to the Agricultural Community’s needs, and food in general, with Craig being the ranking member of the House Agricultural Committee, nuff said. With both US Senators Tina Smith (D-MN) and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) departing from the Senate Agriculture Committee, we need a strong replacement set.
Craig walks right in without blinking an eye, while Flanagan will need direction to the right door for the members’ entrance.
Flanagan is the best pick if we want to see Democrats lose the seat. Hard Core MAGA (Maggots) are willing to forgo their own Primary to crossover to vote against the Socialist Flanagan, which should tell you something. If you want to know where she stands, right next to every ill-begotten ultra-left idea ever rendered. Hmmm, lightweight with bad idea structure, i.e., bad choice.
Is this an endorsement of Craig for the US Senate? Not really; it’s more of an outright rejection of Flanagan as anything, including dogcatcher.
Oh, and when Klobuchar is Governor, Amy, please, please, please, do not appoint her to replace you; she doesn’t have the chops.
