Minnesota Report
For the last two Mondays, we have been calling attention to the number of bills introduced in each body, and the respective top three authors to provide some semblance of insight into the ongoing activity. Again, because we are doing this prior to the start of the sessions, the totals will change.
The new running totals are: House has 1582 bills and the Senate 1642.The most prolific bill authors in the Senate remain the same and they are Sens Eric Lucero (R-30, St Michael) remains at the head of the pack with 70, Rich Draheim (R-22, Madison Lake) holds second with 59, and Mary Kunesh (DFL-39, New Brighton) brings up third with 53.
In the House, the names and positions are the same, with a few more pieces of legislation added to the mix. The top three bill authors in the House are still Reps Duane Quam (R-24A, Bryon) with 58, Rick Hansen (DFL-53B, South St Paul) with 32, and Kristin Robbins (R-37A, Maple Grove) with 30.
