Hopefully, once the storm blows over the MeToo movement—which is one of the most destructive to male & female relations, because it starts with an unfounded accusation, believing the woman always—will die. It’s like yelling fire in a crowded theater, but in this case it’s RAPE, but in this case it’s akin to Nathaniel Hawthorne’s Scarlet Letter A, for Adultery. Which historically was only applied to women and not men, and wasn’t even ripped out of the pages of state law until Ms Her was a state Representative.
We find it interesting that this whole issue occurs at a time when she is just set to release her proposed budget for 2027. Additionally, there will be a foundation element to her budget which creating a 2-year Budget structure. Meaning, like the state, Saint Paul will incorporate projections, drawn from the state, on the economy and plan, with some semblance of foreknowledge, what is to come.
But also, the fact the police department is potentially set to be pruned, as all departments in order to address a $26 million shortfall. Now, this deficit exists largely because of the city’s response to Operation Metro Surge, and the blame lies at the feet of the federal government, but bills must be paid, and we have a ready source: the Minnesota Wild.
Now, we have discussed this before, and if Craig Leipold and the rest of the organization’s board are not listening, they should. The sweetheart deal Norm Coleman (R) needs to end. Other than a Donald J Trump (R) Grifter-in-Chief stylized package to benefit his friends, Robert Nagele, the original Wild owner, should never have been provided all of the revenue from the new arena. Tell us why a tenant should get any revenue when Eric Clapton, Stevie Nicks, or any other non-hockey event comes to town. Ya, sure, the Xcel/Grand Casino is a draw, but the property is owned by the city, and they do the maintenance and hence, should get the overall proceeds and not the team.
So, if the city wants to fill a budgetary hole, all they need to do is violate the contract which pays their tenant a single dollar from non-hockey generated revenue. Cut, dried, and simple.
Now, back to the Her Problem. Ms Her has never been a CEO, maybe an Executive, but not the final authority, and this position comes with growing pains. Now, did she want to be one of the boys, or try to find a bond with employees she found in her new position? Likely, but as they say in the military, No Fraternization between officers and enlisted. You can’t be buddy-buddy with those who ultimately work for you. As they say, It’s Lonely at the Top. Get a dog.
Mayor Her, if you want a friend pick on from the list of Mayors across the country, at least they will understand your issues, or even bond with US Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) after the November election, because when she wins, and she will win, she will be able to commensurate with you, but remember she has a larger reach than you do so regionally stick with the mayors of Minneapolis, Bloomington, or Rochester.
