Today, Governor Tim Walz (DFL-MN) flanked by Lt Governor Peggy Flanagan (DFL-MN) in a video on a football field announced their reelection for 2022. The just over two-minute spot, entitled, Goal Line Stand, clearly a commercial on the front-end, which highlights their team partnership, with a commitment to protect the citizen’s of our state during the COVID-19 Pandemic and doubles down on opposition from any Republicans who opposed or continues to oppose vaccines, mask mandates and the downplaying of COVID.
The set-up of the campaign, appears an offensive frontal attack, rather than a defensive posture against the Bizarro World of Donald J Trump (R) and his acolytes, which is the playbook former Governor and DNC Chair Terry McAuliffe (D-VA) is running in Virginia, in a race we will see playout this November 2nd. Democratic candidates are wise to collectively use this strategy as their guide-on for the next election. Trump is a guiding force, in spite of not being on the ballot, and his shadow is cast on all Republican candidates and across our nation in every corner.
