National & Minnesota Report
To date, every proposed Recall Petition brought before the Minnesota State Supreme Court has FAILED. In spite of a claim of one of the mystical “feasanses” in this case Nonfeasance, from the family of Malfeasance, and Misfeasance, this has never been adjudicated by the court as grounds for a new election.
The proposal what nothing more than a PR stunt by the House GOP and the Republican Party. Maybe the esteemed lawyers and the lawyers in their ranks like soon to be House Republican Leader Harry Niska show bone-up on Minnesota law.
Minnesota is a unique state, and we will argue, better because of a number of things we don’t do that other less enlightened states do, for example:
- We don’t have Term Limits.
- We don’t have Referendums.
But we do do something stupid and that is we do have Ranked Choice Voting in municipalities, this is where Governor Tim Walz (DFL-MN), Lt Governor Peggy Flanagan (DFL-MN), Attorney General Keith Ellison (DFL-MN) and Secretary of State Steve Simon (DFL-MN) who all support this election process are all smart in someways, but in this case are downright dumb.
