Minnesota Report
As people grow older, they often are treated similarly as they were when they were children. In this reality, people are experiencing greater burdens on their family finances, at the beginning and the later stages of life, so why not have a facility where these two needs are combined? During the debates for additional funding for nursing homes and childcare especially in Greater Minnesota, the shortage of staffing and closing facilities is commonplace. The realities of the pandemic only further exacerbated the problem.
If we were to treat our elders not just as a burden and a need to warehouse them, but allowed them to interact with children then both groups can receive an increased level of fulfillment and enrichment.
Just a thought.
