Minnesota Report

In the first late night session, the senate passed HF0007, on a party line vote 34-33, compared to the House passage last week of 70-60, which also reflected strong party influence. Now, the bill heads to Governor Tim Walz (DFL-MN) which he has indicated he will sign. The bill mandates 100% clean electricity production by all state utilities by 2040, which as we understand, is an achievable timeframe since over 50% of clean production is already underway. This means a further increase in solar and wind, and nuclear power, which doesn’t produce any carbon in its processing.
