When the legislature returns for its third Special Session We expect the rhetoric will not have changed very much and House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt (R-31A, Crown) will continue with his diatribe of seeking to strip Governor Tim Walz (DFL-MN) of his Emergency Powers in order to put his caucuses support behind a Bonding Bill. Now, if Daudt is so concerned about the legislature not playing a role because they are not in session there is a simple solution.
He should support the call for a year-round legislature because in the future the legislature would then be in session and able to respond to each action taken by a governor and not need to be called back to do so after the fact.
Of course once his Primary is over next week he may not be as strident.
