The execution of Amir Locke, which all can clearly see on video, maybe the catalyst which brings about an end to No-Knock Warrants. Statements from the Gun Rights Owners Caucus and the BIPOC community, Governor Tim Walz (DFL-MN) and other legislative leaders seem to be leading in this direction.
There is speculation, Locke’s executioners are the same US Marshall detachment which killed Winston Smith atop the Uptown parking ramp on June 3, 2021. We will see how this plays out, but it might be the first time the two sides can agree, or enough crossover can occur, to bring about systemic change in curtailing use of force with law enforcement.
