National & Minnesota Report

If Congressman Tom Emmer (R-MN06) wants to mainstream cryptocurrency, there is a simple method. The federal government would need to accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, Doge, non-fungible tokens (NFT) or any other blockchain protected money transfer system as an acceptable payment for taxes. The establishment of Federal Income Tax in the 16th Amendment says just this point in a simple fashion. “The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.”

Whatever source, seem eminently clear and concise, so if Emmer truly wants to this idea to move forward, he should draft a bill, get a member of the House Majority to co-Author it with him, and convince two US Senators of both political parties to do the same.

Seems pretty, cut dried and simple, and the proper way to accomplish the task, and not grandstand, or merely seek an issue for the election.
