As we alone reported, after the Delano 4th of July Parade, where we witnessed and recorded Mike Lindell and campaign supporters doling out mini “MyPillows” along the parade route to parade watchers, which, by his own admission, were paid for by his campaign, and clearly have an established value. This means it violates Minnesota Campaign Finance Law.
Interesting Insights at the Delano Fourth of July Parade
In fact, we know of a pending court case by State Senate District 29 candidate Dan Fiskum (DFL-29, Rockford) on this very matter. Fiskum, who is running in a ruby red district in Wright County, also witnessed Lindell’s actions since his parade float was several spots behind.
Fiskum is also toting an interesting moniker, calling himself “Dan the Data Center Slayer” and mounting a challenge to the DFL-endorsed candidate Louis McNutt, seeking to challenge the incumbent Sen Michael Holmstrom (R-29, Buffalo), who trounced McNutt more than 2-to-1 in the 2025 Special Election.
Now, this is not the first time a Gubernatorial Candidate has faced a serious fine. In 2008, the Tim Pawlenty for Governor campaign was fined $100,000 by the Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board and, in turn, had to count $500,000 spent on the campaign’s behalf for television commercials paid for by the Republican Party of Minnesota as its own expenditure.
