National & Minnesota Report

When you are a political publication, even an electronic one, and the first in your state, people who read you want you to have things they have acquired. Ask, Aaron Brown. In 1998, we had secured a trophy from the President of Independent Community Bankers of Minnesota Will Haddeland, which was the John Spanish Award. Originally created, because of his legislation for Hunting for the Blind, which in spite of seeming ludicrous at first blush, is now actually state law for assisted hunting. Brown received this a s a prize for providing the best predictions in this election including the success of Jesse Ventura.

In this case, we have pamphlet copies of the 1960 Democratic Fact Book, of which we will provide some excerpts and the Democratic Manual of the Democratic National Committee 1964, in its entirety, and which is as old as our publisher Shawn Towle.

In the 1960 Democratic Fact Book, there are interesting sections about then Vice-President Richard Milhous Nixon (R), and his running mate Henry Cabot Lodge which seem to be a precursor to Donald John Trump. Especial this passage, on page 49, Richard M. Nixon For President? Can Our National Future Be Trusted to This Man?

Now, we here at Checks & Balances, have always thought the birth of Trump was an outgrowth of an unhealthy union of President Ronald W Reagan (R) and House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) conjoined in a womb filled with a high dose of malignant narcissism. But, it appears to have actually had gestation and incubation with Nixon. Who avoided his own impeachment by being pardoned by President Gerald Ford (R) supposedly for the sake of our nation.

Prior there are biographies of John Fitzgerald Kennedy (D) and Lyndon Baines Johnson (D).

We recommend our readers read these scanned pages with great appreciation of past works and their impact on future potential actions. We’re not sure if the Kamala Harris (D) and Tim Walz (D) campaign is paying attention right now, but quoting for a Democratic icon like Kennedy and a document compiled by the likes of his intellectual elite corps would be worth noting.

The Hard Road or the Easy One.

Seems like a indirect reference to Kennedy’s favorite poet Robert Frost’s poem The Road Not Taken.

Later segments on How Not to Run a Government, the proposed Democratic Party Platform and the Convention Procedure or Rules. Each of these items are insightful to the sign of the times and a gaze into the future.

For those of you would love Convention Rules read these pages. We are thinking of those compatriots who served on the DFL Constitution & Bylaws Commission and other Rules Committees.

As mentioned, we also have the 1964 Democratic Manual.
