Yesterday, three of the high profiles candidates in federal races endorsed Donald J Trump (R) loss in their primary contests Colorado, Nevada and South Carolina. The most notable was in the US Senate race to succeed Sen Mitt Romney (R) where Rep. John Curtis handily defeated the endorsed Riverton Mayor Trent Staggs for the Republican nomination. With 82% of the votes in, Curtis held a 51-30 lead as of this morning.

Additionally, Trump proved to support the also ran in Colorado’s 5th Congressional District. Where in pite of his whimsical name, conservative radio host Jeff Crank scored a 30-point victory over the state party chair Dave Williams 65-35 for the tap to replace retiring Rep Doug Lamborn (R-CO05). Lamborn had also endorsed Crank along with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA04).

The closest contest was in the South Carolina 03 District where but Trump’s selection of pastor Mark Burns proved to be insufficient because Air National Guard Lt. Col. Sheri Biggs prevailed with 51-49% to succeed retiring Rep Jeff Duncan (R-SC03), who is leaving under a cloud, due to allegations of infidelity which appeared in his divorce proceedings last year.

The victors all outspent their opponents and outside groups like the Americans for Prosperity weighed in heavily in the Colorado contest.
