The race in Senate District 54 to replace former Sen Dan Schoen (DFL-Cottage Grove), is on between former Rep now Washington County Commissioner Karla Bigham (DFL-Cottage Grove) and former Rep Denny McNamara (R-Hastings), but McNamara must face a Primary challenge from James E. Brunsgaard, III, who filed for the seat yesterday in Dakota County.
McNamara served in the Minnesota House for 14 years and not without some controversy. He left while a report from the House Ethics Committee was being completed. We have obtained the report, click here to view it McNamara Ethics Complaint.
This report is troubling and in spite of it never being presented to the Ethics Committee, leaves one feeling McNamara is a transactional politician and is willing to seek public contracts, in which he had influence over the funding source, to enrich himself and his family. These are similar ethical problems for Donald J Trump (R) and when exposed makes the politician look shady. Looks like McNamara and Trump have something in common.
We hope the voters of Senate District 54 are fully knowledgeable about McNamara’s unethical transactions when they vote on January 29th, and if McNamara prevails on February 12th.
